Who is responsible
hotel.kids is run by the operator named in our imprint. Questions about your data: hello@hotel.kids.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion tracking only if you click "Accept" in the cookie banner. Until then, no Google scripts load and no analytics cookies are set. Google may process the data in the United States. You can change your choice any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
Without cookies, we still count clicks on booking buttons so we know which hotels are useful. For this we store the hotel, the page, any campaign tags in the link (such as utm_source or gclid) and a pseudonymous code made from your IP address, browser and the date. The code changes every day and cannot be turned back into your IP address. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; Swiss FADP).
Email updates
If you sign up for updates, we store your email address and what you asked to hear about, and use it only for that. We first send one email asking you to confirm; until you click the link in it, we send you nothing else, and if you don't confirm within 7 days we delete your address. Every email has an unsubscribe link that deletes your address, or write to us to be removed.
Hotel contact form
When a hotel sends us its details, we store the form contents to review the listing and reply. We delete submissions we don't act on after 12 months.
Booking links
When you click through to Booking.com, a hotel website or Google, their privacy policy applies from that point. Affiliate links may carry a partner code so the booking can be attributed to us.
Hosting and maps
The site is hosted by Fly.io in Frankfurt. Map tiles load from OpenStreetMap when you open a map, which shares your IP address with their servers. Fonts are served by us.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, object to processing, or complain to your data protection authority (in Switzerland the FDPIC; in the UK the ICO).
